Sand Grain Sizing Folder (Pocket Size)

The Geological Sand Gauge is a standard comparator chart for accurate and consistent sample description in the Lab, office of field.

Precisely sieved quartz grains are permanently mounted in a convenient, pocket-sized booklet. Six grain sizes (rounded, sub-rounded, sub-angular and angular), give the geologist a direct visual comparison for textural descriptions.

Charts also include classification boundaries for larger materials (granules through boulders) as well as hand "inch" and millimetre" scales along the chart edges.
